After years of rumors following General Motors’ stated plans to electrify its lineup, Chevy finally announced that its flagship pickup will be receiving the fuel-free treatment. Though we’re a bit away from having the all-electric Silverado 1500 here at Chevrolet of Santa Fe, we’ve compiled everything we know so far below.
Chevrolet was born in the USA, and its pride-and-joy Silverado is as American as baseball and apple pie. As a result, it only makes sense that the all-electric Silverado will be built in Motor City at GM’s revolutionary Factory Zero. This facility is set to receive a $2.2 billion upgrade to support the electric Silverado and other upcoming GM EVs.
Built for Business:
While the Silverado makes an excellent family road trip vehicle or off-road partner in Santa Fe, New Mexico, it really shines on the jobsite. Chevy announced that the Silverado EV will be available for fleets, allowing small business owners the opportunity to modernize their workforce and save on fuel.
The Silverado EV will be powered by an Ultium battery built in Lordstown, Ohio. The battery is expected to propel the electric Silverado to a range of over 400 miles.
Keep following Chevrolet of Santa Fe to be the first to know when the all-electric Silverado hits our lot.
