Modern Cadillac models come with the advanced Magnetic Ride Control technology, which alters the suspension to create a smoother ride. Now, the new Cadillac Escalade, CT4-V, CT5-V, and CT5 Sport come with MagneRide 4.0, an even quicker version of the reacting suspension technology.
MagneRide 4.0 has a damping response that’s up to 45 percent faster than the previous generation of the technology. As such, even when driving on a bumpy or shoddy road, you can feel comfortable inside your Cadillac.
Cadillac was able to upgrade the technology and improve its responsiveness by reevaluating the sensors, dampers, controller hardware, and more of its components. Specifically, the automaker enhanced the magnetic flux control, added new accelerometers, and included an inertial measurement unit that makes the technology more sensitive to movement.
The high-tech system works by pairing magnetorheological fluid and electromagnets to constantly change the damping rate. The wheel accelerometers trigger these changes as they examine the road up to an impressive 1,000 times each second. The Cadillac models can then better handle sharp turns and differing road conditions.
MagneRide 4.0 is available on the 2021 Cadillac Escalade and CT5 Sport and comes standard on the CT4-V and CT5-V. If you’re interested in making one of these luxury models your own, be sure to give us a call at Cadillac of Santa Fe.
