The all-new C8 Corvette is turning out to be one of the most impressive Corvette models ever produced. Not only does it feature a bold mid-engine design, but it has the speed and power to match its supercar styling.
Chevrolet is currently working on creating a documentary that shares a lot of the details that went into engineering the C8 Corvette. In the trailer for the film, we see the Corvette get a chance to take on Nurburgring. Chevrolet revealed that the car, equipped with the Z51 Performance Package, set a lap time of 7:29.9 with Chevrolet racing team member Oliver Gavin behind the wheel.
With this time, it puts the C8 Corvette just inches away from other impressive times, including the Camaro ZL1 with 7:29.6 and the Camaro ZL1 1LE model with 7:16.04. Since this record was set last summer, its time can only improve. Chevrolet has since made further engineering developments and is working on models with even greater performance capabilities.
The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette comes with an impressive 6.2-liter V8 engine. With the available Z51 Performance Package, it has an output of 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. This package gives the Corvette a big boost in performance with features like an electronic limited-slip differential and a heavy-duty cooling system.
