2020 Corvette Named North American Car of the Year

Each year, at the North American Auto Show in Detroit, a group of about 50 journalists choose the North American Car of the Year — and this year’s award winner is the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette. This lofty title holds a lot of weight since automotive journalists are some of the most knowledgeable people in the automotive industry. Since these reporters get more hands-on experience with more makes and models than almost anyone else, they’re qualified to name the best vehicles in the industry.

“It’s humbling to be selected for this award by such an impressive jury of automotive journalists,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer. “Our team poured our hearts and souls into this vehicle, and to see such an overwhelmingly positive reception makes it all worthwhile. We are sure our customers will love the new Corvette as much as these jurors and we can’t wait to get them behind the wheel.”

This is the third time the Corvette has won this award. It previously won in 1998 for the fifth-generation model and again in 2014 with the seventh-generation model. With the introduction of the eighth-generation Corvette, only one part has been carried over from the previous model.

One of the most innovative features in the 2020 Corvette is its thrilling mid-engine design. In addition to its new design, the award jurors were stunned by its impressive performance and overall refinement. The Corvette will boast an all-new LT2 V8, which is visible through a rear window.

When the new Corvette hits dealership lots, you can take it for a spin Chevrolet of Santa Fe.
