Cadillac has unveiled powerful new vehicles for the 2020 model year. Now, Cadillac is set to debut the first-ever Cadillac EV in 2022 along with other electric vehicles in the future.
Cadillac originally hinted at the Cadillac EV at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, which took place in January. Cadillac displayed renderings of the model while presenting about the all-new 2020 Cadillac XT6.
It’s known that Cadillac has also recently been in the process of testing electric crossover models. As such, there are rumors that the upcoming Cadillac EV will be a midsize electric crossover that’s similar to the models being tested.
Each of the new Cadillac EV models is suspected to be built on the Battery Electric Vehicle 3 platform, which is a new EV platform that could be launched near 2021. The flexible and scalable EV architecture could allow the Cadillac EV to offer rear-, front- and all-wheel-drive.
Cadillac is also set to debut an electric variant of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade. This model could have almost 400 miles of driving range on a full charge.
We at Chevrolet Cadillac of Santa Fe are excited about the future Cadillac EV and other electric models. Stop by our dealership to view the Cadillac vehicles currently on our lot.
